| In homes built in a high water table, a stand-alone sump pit and pump cannot adequately eliminate water from its source. Water in some areas has to rise about 2 to 6 inches before it will ever reach the pit. Water must be intercepted before it surfaces above ground level. A wet enviroment is very unhealthy and destructive. Mold thrives and reproduces by producing airborne spores by the millions, and some molds are toxic. Rot and decay occur in wet enviroments causing structural damage. |

Water tables rise on the outside of your foundation causing horizontal hydrostatic pressure on your foundation. The pressure must be relieved below the crawl space surface, therefore we dig a trench around the perimeter, grading the trench toward the sump pit. We then install 4" perforated tile with a gravel backfill. After grading the crawl space level, we install a vapor barrier to keep the moisture in the ground. |
